Clean Jobs America 2022
On August 2, E2 published the Clean Jobs America 2022 report. E2 is a national, nonpartisan group of business leaders, investors and others who advocate for policies that consider both the economy and the environment. The organization produces resources that inform the public on the current state of the clean economy, climate, infrastructure and security, and sustainability in the U.S.
The American Jobs Plan
Despite being the wealthiest nation in the world, the U.S. ranks #13 in infrastructure quality. This deterioration is not new or sudden; in fact, public domestic investment has decreased by more than 40% over the course of 60 years. In 2021, President Biden created the 3-part “Build Back Better Agenda”. The American Rescue Plan Act was the first part launched in response to COVID-19 to provide financial relief for working families. The American Jobs Plan is the second part of this proposal and is not a response to COVID-19, but to the worsening economy.
GPRO Training for a Sustainable Future
In recent years, the green jobs industry has been growing rapidly in response to the climate crisis. Between 2015 and 2019 green jobs grew by 13.2% in New York, more than twice the rate of total job growth (6%). In 2002, the non-profit organization Urban Green Council was established with the mission to transform buildings for a sustainable future in New York City and around the world. Urban Green Council acts as an education partner with the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) — another non-profit organization that supports the development of prosperous, healthy and resilient communities through the transformation of the built environment.
How Green Jobs Invest in Our Planet
To celebrate Earth Month 2023, EFG shared a series of mini-blogs highlighting how green jobs “invest in our planet” each Friday of the month. Green jobs are essential to mitigating the effects of and building resilience to climate change — and they’re growing rapidly.
Energy Efficiency Jobs in America
This month is National Energy Awareness Month and October 6 is Energy Efficiency Day, as stated by the U.S. Department of Energy. These declarations emphasize the importance of sustainable practices that improve our national energy resilience and security. Federal agencies are “Leading by Example” to meet energy efficiency and renewable energy laws and requirements. EFG is committed to investing our resources in projects that support sustainable energy so that every day is Energy Efficiency Day.
