THE EDUCATION GAP
The green economy is advancing at a rapid pace, with the exponential growth of renewable energy, energy efficiency, building standards, and an enhanced energy infrastructure over the last decade set to continue. The key to this transition is a qualified and skilled workforce, something many states are lacking, as evidenced by the recurring gap between growth in green jobs and a suitable talent pool available to prospective employers - that’s where we come in. Our team works to smooth the path for school graduates, job changers, and entrepreneurs to embrace the opportunities in the evolving energy economy through education, training, and certification opportunities.
WHAT WE OFFER
We offer a variety of relevant introductory and advanced certification courses and technical training opportunities appropriate for a range of students, including traditional high schools, technical and vocational schools, colleges and universities, and professionals, including instructors. Our courses and training sessions are available through a virtual or in-person format, and available in both English and Spanish to expand accessibility. Each course or training session is available individually by request, or can be taught as part of a customizable, comprehensive educational program.
For instructors who are interested in incorporating this into their permanent curriculum, we are well equipped to offer train-the-trainer style sessions to get you certified, and provide you with the materials needed to certify your students for years to come.

As of November 2023, the labor landscape continues to reveal a compelling yet challenging scenario. The Bureau of Labor Statistics underscores a national surplus of 10.7 million available jobs, a staggering contrast to the 6.1 million positions currently filled. This discrepancy, often attributed to the “skills gap,” amplifies the critical need for a skilled workforce aligned with evolving economic trends, particularly in fields related to climate solutions and advancing technologies.
GPRO Training for a Sustainable Future
In recent years, the green jobs industry has been growing rapidly in response to the climate crisis. Between 2015 and 2019 green jobs grew by 13.2% in New York, more than twice the rate of total job growth (6%). In 2002, the non-profit organization Urban Green Council was established with the mission to transform buildings for a sustainable future in New York City and around the world. Urban Green Council acts as an education partner with the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) — another non-profit organization that supports the development of prosperous, healthy and resilient communities through the transformation of the built environment.
